The firms will unveil a one-off moving version of the Bocca sofa called “Gufram in Motion — La Bocca è Mobile (the mouth is mobile).” The surreal display will be set within a majestic hall of the Sala degli Specchi at Palazzo Litta situated in the 5VIE design district. The Bocca sofa was created in 1971 by Studio65 and will see its lips smooch, perhaps, for the very first time. Pierre-Louis Mascia will unveil its first home collection, which comprises a fusion of objects such as vases, plates, tablecloths and notebooks covered in silk, fabrics and prints designed for a convivial space. L’Art de la Table is the last debut and includes a series of terracotta tableware made by a Tuscan workshop and precious printed silk tablecloths.

During that time, she created numerous product lines, including an activity kit collection for Target, a party décor line, and a children’s board game with integrated VR technology. After recognizing a deep appreciation for beautifully designed interiors, Daphnie subsequently focused her design talent and entered the world of interior design. While at Avenue Interior Design, Daphnie has been part of the design teams heavily involved in concept development and branding and has been involved with product design and collaboration for hospitality-based suppliers, including Lily Jack, Walters Wicker, and Loloey carpets.

Building on the Unikko-inspired initiatives staged worldwide throughout the year, the weeklong pop-up will feature a series of limited-edition collectibles in the colorful floral print, in addition to activations from breakfast to aperitivo. Off-White is releasing a limited-edition rug, which will also take center stage at the brand’s Via Verri flagship with an immersive floor-to-ceiling installation and a takeover of its windows. Saudi Arabia’s Design Space AlUla transported visitors to the ancient oasis city’s natural and cultural landscape right in the heart of Milan’s historic design district, Brera.

Since it’s 2009 foundation in a bohemian studio off of Venice and Abbot Kinney, hospitality based Avenue Interior Design has positioned itself as a tiny powerhouse in an industry full of giants. Now based in Downtown Los Angeles, and decidedly less tiny, the team continues to design and collaborate on the industry’s most exciting properties for the most prominent leaders in hospitality. More than a century ago, in Northern Italy’s Biella Alps, Ermenegildo Zegna commenced a reforestation project around his wool mill, throughout an area known today as Oasi Zegna. Since the Zegna founder embarked on this vast undertaking, more than 500,000 trees have been planted and nurtured in an area that stretches some 100 square kilometers. A second-floor terrace also allowed visitors to stroll around—and reflect upon—one tree at the heart of an open-air courtyard. In tandem with this, Zegna also took over custodianship (for the next three years) of the flowerbeds at Milan’s most recognizable architectural structure, Piazza Duomo, decorating the popular tourist destination with flora reminiscent of Oasi Zegna.

Avenue Interior Design is fully committed to all types of scopes, whether large scale scopes for MGM Resorts International and sbe or smaller scale, one-of-a-kind properties such as La Serena Villas in Palms Springs and The Ramble Hotel in Denver. Where Avenue has directed the creative vision from concept through to installation, projects have had unprecedented success captivating guests and securing maximum ADR and ROI for the Ownership group. Avenue’s primary goal is to create compelling and influential brand identities that leave guests excited to return – all while maximizing profitability and publicity for our clients.

Avenue Interior Design is proud to include numerous independent Ownership groups as well industry mainstays Montage, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, sbe, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Station Casinos, the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians and San Manuel as clientele amongst others. In the middle of the ever hectic Salone del Mobile, Ms. Pham and Mr. America’s two-year-old company, Objects Are By, will be staging a vernissage around their inaugural collection, complemented by a new project just added to the lineup. The launch event, like much of the work appearing in it, speaks to the couple’s strong feelings for their adoptive city, as well as a desire to capitalize on its restless creative energy. How that relationship, and that business, evolved — and how both of them ended up in Italy’s capital of style — is part of a larger story, the next chapter of which is unfolding during Milan’s annual design week. Many designs are in the process and the social media/website are constantly being updated.

It’s been 10 years since Charlotte Macaux Perelman and Alexis Fabry first took over Hermès Maison as creative directors—so it was only fitting that the presentation of their latest collection this week should artfully blur the lines between past and present. In the cavernous central space of their long-time Milan Design Week home, La Pelota Jai Alai, the floor was covered with a striking series of panels —raw earth, terracotta, bricks, rocks, adobe, and wood—with criss-crossing black walkways overlaid to create the effect of walking through an archaeological site. In the air is a desire for solidity, for concreteness, for materiality—and pieces that carry their own weight, in every sense, are breaking into domestic design. So it’s logical that materials like travertine—and even more so, marble—are playing an important role in this design week. Milan saw some wonderfully whimsical designs too, for a moment’s smile among the otherwise more serious discussions on machine intelligence and climate emergency. At the Triennale di Milano (until June 16, 2024) is an immersive site-specific video installation that takes you into the creative mind of the brilliant Italian architect Alessandro Mendini.

During the preview, the Dutch sibling duo Imre and Marne van Opstal, along with their ensemble, orchestrated a mesmerizing dance performance within and above the net. In addition, designboom and BMW Design hosted a live talk on Monday 15 April titled Design as Accelerator for Change, delving into the role of design, the new design era of BMW, and how design can be the catalyst for positive change in mobility and more. Moderated by journalist Eva Steidl, the panel featured Alice Rawsthorn, design critic and co-founder of Design Emergency, and Holger Hampf, Head of BMW Group Designworks. In the prepandemic days of 2019, the (aptly) American-born Mr. America, now 41, and the German-born but (mostly) American-raised Ms. Pham, 43, were flitting between Europe, Asia and the United States, he pursuing a career as an artist and she as a communications director for international fashion brands.

The results are carpets crafted from red-tipped wooden skewers or pins that create patterns evoking the signature Issey Miyake pleats. For Milan Design Week 2024, Bottega Veneta honored Le Corbusier and his LC14 Tabouret Cabanon table design, originally conceived by the Swiss-French architect and designer for his personal cabin, or ‘cabanon,’ located in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin on the French Riviera. Matthieu Blazy and Bottega Veneta partnered with Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier for the indoor installation, adding the architect and designer’s Cabanon stools, which dominated most of the exhibition space.

Crafted in Europe’s largest glass kiln, ‘Porta’ exemplifies how the brand adapts to the size and variability of glass while meeting the demands of architectural projects. In a collective exhibition bringing together emerging designers, studios, universities, brands, and galleries from across the country, the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and Presence Switzerland showcased a wealth of Swiss-related talents from the world of contemporary design. Split across three floors, with indoor and outdoor installations, the House draws from the country’s design heritage while addressing themes through a current lens and a future-focused vision during this year’s design week. Addressing this year’s project with an intrinsic curiosity, creatives were invited to explore their emotional connection to the design process. In contemplating the sentiments and feelings experienced on a collective and individual scale, immersive installations within the house and its surroundings invited us to reflect upon the contentment found through our connection to design topics like circularity, wellness, and nature.

Prior to joining Avenue Interior Design, Pranav worked with several nationally recognized interior design firms for powerhouse clients including Ritz-Carlton, Caesars Entertainment, Marriott and Hilton. He has successfully designed, managed and installed more than 50 hospitality projects and 20 high-end residential projects throughout the world. With two parallel exhibitions—“Red Takeover” and “Silver Dome”—Diesel Living unveiled a series of collaborations with Sassuolo, Italy-based Iris Ceramica, historic Italian furniture brand Moroso, Venetian lighting designer Lodes, and the Made in Italy modular kitchen company Scavolini. The first space, drenched in crimson, used carpeting and Iris Ceramica lacquered “Melt” tiles as the backdrop for several geometric collaborative lamps, including the future-forward hanging piece known as Modular and Megaphone, a gradient glass table lamp.

This showcase blurred the lines separating the two entities, inviting visitors to envision a harmonious future where innovation seamlessly integrates with our lives. Against the backdrop of Le Cavallerizze, Milan, Samsung Design presented more than just an exhibition—it’s a profound exploration of the delicate balance between people and the digital. During Milan Design Week 2024, Prada unveiled the latest edition of Prada Frames, titled Being Home. Curated by Formafantasma, this multidisciplinary symposium explored the evolving relationship between the natural environment and design. Being Home reflected on the private sphere as more than just a space of comfort—it’s a dynamic refuge and an influential force shaping socioeconomic norms.

We appreciate your interest in Denise Milano Design and look forward to the opportunity to bring your unique style to life. As lullabies began to play over the speakers, a procession of models began circulating around the room as if sleepwalking, before being dressed by two mysterious attendants in a full Browne three-piece suit and tucking themselves into bed. Expect those to become a fashion editor favorite while jetting across the Atlantic to the European shows next season.
